Within the framework of the efforts of the project “Enhancing the Roles of Non-Governmental Organizations in Sustainable Development and Climate Action (Sustainable Empowerment)”, the second meeting of the founding committee of the National Network for Sustainable Development “Nama” was held, with the participation of members of the founding committee and representatives of partner NGOs, as part of the efforts aimed at building a national network based on partnership, exchanging experiences, and enhancing integration between civil society institutions.
This meeting comes based on the network’s vision to be a leading national platform that brings together civil society organizations under one umbrella, in a way that enhances their institutional capabilities, and unifies their efforts in knowledge production, technical support, and joint work, to contribute to achieving the goals of sustainable development, climate action, and improving the quality of life locally.
The meeting witnessed the discussion and adoption of a number of institutional foundations that represent the basic building block for the launch of the network. The general bylaws were reviewed and approved, the organizational structure of the founding committee was elected, the code of conduct and visual identity was discussed, in addition to the adoption of a draft protection policy, a review of what was achieved during the founding phase, and a discussion of the features of the second phase, with the development of an action plan for the next three months, and the identification of clear mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating performance, ensuring the building of a strong and sustainable network based on principles.
